Early Years Entitlement

Currently, Surrey County Council provides a grant for three and four year old children for up to 5 sessions of three hours per week. This is subject to an Early Years Free Entitlement Parental Registration Form being completed. These are available from the School Bookkeeper.

 

Since January 2004, Surrey County Council (SCC) has provided six consecutive terms of funded nursery education for all three and four year old children from the term after their 3rd birthday.

Date of birth falling between Will be eligible for six terms from:
1 September and 31 December Spring term
1 January and 31 March Summer term
1 April and 31 August Autumn term
 

For the 2017-18 academic year, Surrey County Council have confirmed funding of (£67.65pw) based on 15 hours at £4.51ph. The number of weeks eligible for funding each term varies, however the following is based on 2016-17:

  • Autumn term - £879.45 (13 weeks) 
  • Spring term - £676.50 (10 weeks) 
  • Summer term - £798.27 (11.8 weeks)

Children attending part-time hours at Sunflowers Nursery will receive a grant based on the number of sessions attended. The grant may be subject to alteration by Surrey County Council, however the following examples are given as a guide:

2017 – 2018 Examples:

  1. Autumn fee:   full-time £3170  /  grant £879.45  /  payable £2290.55
  2. Autumn fee:   3 x mornings incl. lunch £1300 /  grant £527.67  /  payable £772.33
  3. Autumn fee:   5 x mornings incl. lunch £1920  /  grant £879.45  /  payable £1040.55
  4. Autumn fee:   3 x afternoons excl. lunch £885 / grant £527.67 / payable £357.33
  5. Autumn fee:   5 x afternoons excl. lunch £1475 / grant £879.45 / payable £595.55

Please note: the grant commences after the child's third birthday. N1 pupils age two will not qualify.
